All-New Dinner Show: Call of the Wild

April 11 & 12, 2008
Call of the Wild, is an all-new fast-paced comedy and music revue for lovers of the Great Outdoors—and everyone else. Look what’s fair game! Expect send-ups of everything from tree huggers to Ted Nugent; cave men to modern carnivores; prairie dwellers to pop music; a Fabulous Fan Dance; powerhouse vocal performances by Robin Jons of Des Moines; a dueling piano showdown, new wisdom from the Love Farmer and, of course, prize give-aways. The go-for-broke Sugar Grove Players welcome back Gary Kopsa and his comic flair to the Call of the Wild stage.

Appetizer: Elk Sausage with Gourmet Cheese and Crackers
Salad: Mixed Greens with Toasted Pecans, Dried Blueberries and Poppyseed Dressing
Entrée: Choose Smoked Amana Chop in Maple Bourbon Glaze OR Encrusted and Baked Catfish; both accompanied by Wild Carrots and Wild Rice Mushroom Bisque
Dessert: Hazelnut Torte
Beverage: Coffee, tea, water and one complimentary glass of Sugar Grove wine or sparkling beverage

Sugar Grove Presents dinner entertainment events are one-of-a-kind blendings of cuisine, Iowa wine and beverages, and musical and comedic entertainment. You may schedule your own event with choice of menu or you may attend one of the scheduled evenings open to the public. The careful blending of all the elements of the evening allow you to enjoy your meal, laugh with friends and be entertained while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and warm hospitality of Sugar Grove Vineyards & Gatheringplace.

Your meal is served to your table in four courses and complemented by three courses of fast-paced comedy and music between courses. Themed menus and shows are available to suit the palates and preferences of your group. Perfect for company reward parties, departmental outings, coach tour groups or a private mix of friends and family.

Your Dinner Show Event Includes:

  • 4-Course Custom Cuisine served meal
  • Many menu options (we'll match the menu to suit the theme of the show if desired)
  • Wine tasting or complimentary glass of Sugar Grove wine
  • Millstream (Amana) beer products as well as soda, coffee and tea.
  • Evenings for minimum of 30 to a maximum of 50
  • Seating at tables for 2-10

  • Diners on the Storm, a rock 'n' roll romp with creatures of the night, great when the moon is full or Halloween
  • Dinner By Ghostlight, playful classic ghost-laden tunes, tales and terror
